From 2005-2007, I was the Chairman of the Department of OB/GYN at Holy Cross Hospital and also served on the Medical Executive Committee. I was also Chair of the Supervisory Committee and a member of the GYN peer review committee.
In 2009, Governor Martin O’Malley appointed me to the serve on the Maryland State Board of Physicians, which governs physicians and protects the citizens of the State of Maryland. It was an honor to represent Maryland physicians in this capacity.
Professionally, I have a special interest in gynecology, advanced laparoscopic hysterectomy, and minimally invasive pelvic surgery. In 2013, I was certified as a minimally invasive gynecological surgeon by the Center of Excellence for Minimally Invasive Gynecology (COEMIG) after completing an intensive evaluative process. Several of my partners have the same distinction.
My Career as a Doctor
One of the great rewards of my specialty is the privilege to participate in the milestones of the lives of so many people. Having delivered thousands of babies, I love to hear stories of how “my kids” are growing up.
Early in my career I did not fully appreciate the impact my role as an OB/GYN would have for so many families. My patients and I have shared our common bonds of raising our families through laughter and sadness. We‘ve explored the globe together, sharing our travel adventure experiences.
I am grateful for and truly humbled by all the relationships I have formed throughout my career. Although I no longer practice obstetrics, I continue to care for my established patients and new patients needing gynecologic care.
My husband and I have raised our daughter in Montgomery County, Maryland. She is a graduate of Walter Johnson High School and is now in college. As an “empty nester,” I now have more time to enjoy my passions for fitness and food and to hang out with other tennis enthusiasts.
The tennis community affords me the opportunity to play unlimited tennis through USTA teams and to participate in the endless battle to improve my game.
While I detest all reptiles, I love dogs and am a total pushover for my chocolate lab, Kona. My couch is her couch.
