Obstetrical Care at Capital Women’s Care
At Capital Women’s Care, we understand that every pregnancy is unique. That is why we aim to provide you with care tailored to your individual needs, and to the needs of your child, before, during, and after your pregnancy.
Preparing for your baby’s arrival is an exciting time! In addition to seeing your baby develop, we will provide you with the necessary steps to ensure the health of you and your child. Throughout your pregnancy, we will screen for inherited and genetic conditions, measure your baby’s growth and weight gain, and determine your due date. We will also advise you as to what to expect during labor and delivery.
Early Pregnancy Assessment
Our Obstetrical Care team provides an Early Pregnancy Assessment for women who experience problems such as abnormal bleeding, spotting, cramping, as well as pelvic, abdominal, or lower back pain in the first 18 weeks of pregnancy. To avoid the possibility of ectopic pregnancy and miscarriage, our team will closely monitor the health of both you and your baby throughout this critical period.
Ultrasounds throughout your pregnancy are useful when it comes to determining your due date, confirming the number of fetuses, and monitoring your child’s development. At Capital Women’s Care, we offer a variety of fetal ultrasounds including 2D transabdominal, transvaginal, 3D and 4D, as well as “gender reveal” ultrasounds.
Early detection can change the course of cancer and improve your chances of full recovery. Genetic cancer screening at Capital Women’s Care is an excellent way to understand if you’re at risk.
High-Risk Pregnancy Assessment
Many factors such as your age, lifestyle, multiple fetuses, problems with a previous pregnancy, and pre-existing health conditions can lead us to characterize your pregnancy as high-risk. At Capital Women’s Care, our obstetrical care team specializes in caring for high-risk pregnancy and can offer the advice and treatment you require.
Labor and Delivery
Capital Women’s Care is affiliated with Holy Cross Hospital in Silver Spring, known nationally for its labor and delivery program and Shady Grove Hospital, which has a reputation as one of the finest programs in the region. The Birth Center Care team at both hospitals are dedicated to providing a healthy and safe delivery for you and your child.
